Use of degreasing detergents in mechanical workshops

Maintaining proper cleaning with specific products that do not damage surfaces is an important aspect, both for individuals and businesses. As you may know, each part, object or material has specific needs, and its cleaning is usually conditioned by the amount and type of dirt to which it is exposed. That is why, at Dermo SA, we do not forget about mechanical workshops, which are routinely exposed to all types of dirt. For general use in industry and the automotive industry, Dermo SA has created a specific range that is ideal for cleaning the bodywork, windows and interior of vehicles, trucks, trains and coaches.

A degreaser for every task

But in certain mechanical tasks in which grease is the protagonist, such as those we explain below, we recommend the use of degreasing detergents.

  • Degreasing detergents before a repair

Before starting any repair that involves the application of an adhesive or sealant, it is advisable to degrease the surface in order to achieve maximum adherence to the product and an optimal, clean result, eliminating all types of grease, oil or lubricants that the part may have.

For this, the ideal is to use degreasing detergents that have a solvent base and do not leave residues. Although if the dirt is more persistent, a good option is to use degreasing detergents concentrates that are diluted with water, especially indicated for engines, cast parts, valves and bearings.

  • Degreasing detergents before painting

When we are going to paint a surface we sand it, but we must not forget to clean it thoroughly so that when the paint dries it will look its best. To do this, we must remove all dust and debris.

To ensure that the area is free of contaminants, we recommend that you spray a little water on it. If drops form, it will indicate that it is not completely clean. It is time to use degreasing detergents to finish the cleaning. The results are sure to be much more polished.

  • Degreasing detergents for general cleaning

The importance of hygiene and cleanliness

In addition to taking hygiene and cleanliness into account in every process carried out in a mechanical workshop, it is important to take care of the image of the business, as well as ensuring that the workplace is pleasant and safe for workers.

For this reason, we must always keep floors, furniture and material clean and ready for use. Although it is a basic cleaning, as we have already said, in mechanical workshops grease is the most present, so using degreasing detergents general flooring will be the most appropriate.
