Just because there are areas that we don't clean very often doesn't mean that they don't need a good cleaning from time to time. A clear example of this can be the walls, as they are made of many different materials, it is important to know how they should be maintained in each case, in order to have a good cleaning of the walls of the different rooms of our home.

• Painted walls: these are the most common types of walls, so we are sure to have them in most of our homes. To clean painted walls, we must first remove the dust with a feather duster, a cloth or even a vacuum cleaner. If we find scuff marks from furniture on this type of wall, we can always remove them with an eraser, which is usually perfect for this type of marks. To proceed with cleaning this type of wall, we must make a solution of warm water with a few drops of a neutral liquid detergent. The contents of this bucket must be changed once we see the dirty water and continue with a new solution to clean the entire wall. We must rub gently and it is important to do the entire wall in one sitting, otherwise, stains from drying may remain.

• Tiled walls: the first thing we should do on this type of wall is to check that there is no fungus in the joints. To remove this type of dirt we should use a detergent that is a little stronger than normal so that the task is easier, and without dissolving it, use it to clean the tile joints. To obtain a truly dazzling finish, after cleaning all the tiles with a neutral soap and rinsing them with water, we should apply a final layer of vinegar dissolved in water.

• Walls covered with wood panels: this type of wall suffers from excessive dust and wax. The solution for this type of wall is to rub gently with steel wool moistened with a solution of water and a degreasing detergent. It is important to always clean following the direction of the wood grain.
